Virtual Map and Augmented Reality Project by Juan Carlos Licerio
The San Ygnacio Online Virtual Map invites the public to explore the history of San Ygnacio by engaging with historical sites through commissioned artworks and cutting-edge technology, including immersive Augmented Reality experiences. Artist Juan Carlos Licerio was commissioned by the River Pierce Foundation to create an Augmented Reality memorial for an ancient Carrizo/Comecrudo burial site in San Ygnacio, which can be located and viewed using the QR code below. The project has since expanded to include additional designers at the Trevino-Uribe Fort. Licerio's website and augmented reality designs are living artworks that will seek input from the community and be continually updated with additional references to San Ygnacio's unique history.
